Episode 216: How to Know When It's Time to Leave a Job (The Great Resignation, Part I)

According to a recent survey from Microsoft, 40% of workers are considering leaving their job within the next year. That is what is keeping me up at night. How am I as a leader supporting my team members to fulfill their potential and their purpose in our organization? As a thought leader on leadership and career development, how am I giving you the tools you need to make the right choices for yourself?

This week we’ll be exploring topics on all things job-related. It will be less about the tactical things related to a job search, interviews, networking (but I’ve got episodes for you on all of those topics!). This week will focus more on the thought process that goes into deciding whether it’s time for a new job or you just need to re-energize yourself at work, the most important questions to consider before taking a new job, and how managers can support team members who are likely going through these career questions for themselves.

It’s not always clear when it’s time to leave a job. Sometimes it hits you like a lightning bolt, sometimes it’s little things that add up to become a big thing, and other times you’re just living through a pandemic and it makes everything a lot less clear.

This episode will share warning signs when it’s time to think about leaving your job (albeit not an exhaustive list).
