Coaching Senior Leaders

Goal: Miami Country Day School, a private, co-ed, independent school, was in the process of onboarding a new chief development officer and the head of school wanted to set the new hire up for success by providing him with a coach.

Strategy: Shanna coached the chief development officer throughout the first year of employment in his role, serving as a confidential sounding board and thought partner on leadership and fundraising strategies.

Results: The new CDO successfully onboarded and built trust faster with his team and faculty colleagues. During the course of our work together, the CDO re-structured his team, hired new staff, trained board members and campaign volunteers, and strategically cultivated and solicited 7-figure donors.

“I will admit, I was a bit skeptical when my new school offered to contract Shanna as an executive coach for me. I could not have been more wrong. Over the course of our work together, I have come to really value and appreciate her perspective, because she's been there before as a fundraising leader, and she understands. She offered practical and helpful strategies on topics ranging from onboarding to a new organization, leading a team, working with board volunteers, launching a campaign, and hiring new staff. Her coaching has stretched me in ways I may not have stretched myself.
